The Great Glasgow Pottery Trail

I wrote and produced this cycling walking trail for Glasgow Doors Open Day 2020 which marks the locations of 14 of Glasgow's potteries that exported their ware across the globe. They form part of the story of Scotland’s industrial potteries producing vast quantities of ceramics for domestic and international markets for over two centuries.

The trail takes you on an adventure across the city connecting the potteries in the north, south, east and west of Glasgow. The trail videos provide information on each pottery, including the location, trading countries and images of work made, revealing that Glasgow was a highly developed and major centre for the production of ceramics in the 19th century, rivalling the Staffordshire potteries.
